IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

The Annual Tadcaster 10 Road Race and Fun Run

We are sorry to announce that Tadcaster Harriers have decided to discontinue the Tadcaster 10 Road Race and Fun Run

Discussions have taken place with the Police regarding their requirements and these have been viewed against a background of ever increasing traffic, more onerous requirements from the Athletics governing bodies, and the increasing possibility of legal action if there was an accident.

We came to the conclusion that to go ahead would have meant:

  • A lot of additional work beforehand on road closures, event manuals etc.
  • Extra expenditure on road signs and specialist marshalling kit.
  • More manpower needed on the day and increasing responsibility for those people.
  • Every possibility that we would have to pay for policing from next year on.
For the above reasons we sadly took the decision to discontinue the race. We feel, however, that we would like to continue putting on or supporting a race and a fun run and will be discussing this over the next few months. In the meantime we can reflect on twenty successful years of the Tadcaster 10.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all who have been involved

Tad 10 Tshirts travel the world

Since introducing the Tshirts to finishers in the year 2000 they have been worn all over the world. In fact a limited number of Tshirts were produced for the first Tad 10 in 1983 and a few of these antiques can still be seen today. If you have any unusual sitings of Tad 10 Tshirts then please send information/photos to Rob Wilson c/o The Chairman, Tadcaster Harriers, Copse End, Fairfield Road, Tadcaster LS24 9SW or e-mail at rob@tadcasterharriers.org.uk
The most unusual will be rewarded with the prize of - you guessed it! - A Tad 10 Tshirt
