Club History

Tadcaster Harriers is small friendly running club re-formed in 1983 after an interest in reviving the club was voiced by a group of runners who had taken part in the first Tadcaster 10 mile road race in May that year. The club is based in the market town of Tadcaster, North Yorkshire.
The race had been organised by Tadcaster Methodist Church as a fundraiser for their rebuilding project.  The Tadcaster 10 became an annual event and the race organisation was then taken over by the newly formed Tadcaster Harriers.

We currently have a thriving running membership with a varied level of ability from seasoned veterans to complete beginners.

New members of any ability are always welcome. There is no need to be a particularly fast runner and there is no obligation to turn up regularly. A lot of our members have family and work commitments and just come down to the club when they can.

We meet for training on Tuesday and Thursday nights at Tadcaster Community Sports Trust (formerly Magnets Sports and Social Club). Training runs are split into groups designed to cater for all members in terms of both distance and speed. These groups are led by qualified Running Leaders with the assistance of experienced Tadcaster Harriers members

Most of our running members enjoy racing over a variety of distances (from 5K though to Ultra Marathons) and over a variety of terrains (including Road, Trail, Cross Country and Fell).
